(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - A woman was assaulted by a man with a shotgun today after entering her home just steps ahead of her father. The 8:45 AM armed residential robbery was reported to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office. This event occurred at the address on SE Maple Street, in the Oak Grove area of Milwaukie. Detective Jim Strovink with the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, says the adult female occupant at this address had just returned home to her residence after transporting her child to school. "Immediately upon entering her residence she recognized the interior of her home was ransacked. This woman was further startled when an armed, male intruder em merged from the rear bedroom of her home demanding she get down onto the floor," Strovink said. The armed suspect immediately departed out the front door of the home and was encountered by the female's father, who coincidentally just returned to the residence as well. Strovink says the armed suspect pointed the described short barreled, Remington, 12 Gauge shotgun at the arriving father in front of the residence, then reportedly declared he just wanted to leave and fled west from the residence on SE Maple. He said out of immediate concern for his daughter inside the residence, the father ran into the home to determine his daughter was safe and not physically harmed as a result of this encounter. Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Patrol personnel, Crime Scene Technicians, Detectives and tracking dogs responded in an effort to locate the suspect and process the residence for evidence. This suspect was not located, and both victims were transported to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office to provide details to investigators, and to work with the forensic artist to create an image of the suspect observed during this criminal event. As an additional effort to help identify the suspect, Clackamas County Sheriff's Office personnel returned to the neighborhood this afternoon to canvas the area and displaying this sketch of the suspect to area residents according to Strovink. The suspect is described as a white, male adult 18-20 years of age, six feet to six foot two, with short light brown hair. He reportedly had a thin build, very faint facial hair, and he was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, with black lettering on the front. The suspect fled the residence with a short barreled, 12 gage, Remington, pump action shotgun. Strovink sats this weapon belonged to the home owner and was removed from the residence by the suspect during this criminal event. A reward is offered for information leading to the identification of this suspect responsible for this crime. Members of the public who would like to provide information to investigators are encouraged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Confidential Tip Line at (503) 723-4949.
