(SALEM, Ore.) - The North Salem DMV field office will open at a new location on Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The current North Salem location will close at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, to prepare for the move and installation of DMV equipment in the new building.

DMV services will be available at the new site beginning at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19.

The new office will be located at 3809 Center St. NE in a building behind McGrath’s Fish House and between Best Buy and Pier 1.

The office hours will remain the same – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays, when the office is open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“We need three days to move and install our equipment and prepare for customers,” DMV Field Services Group Manager Stephanie Miles said.

“With a federal holiday on Monday, we can make the move over the weekend to avoid disrupting service to the community.”

The North Salem DMV had been located at the Portland Road NE building for 17 years.

DMV encourages people to visit OregonDMV.com to make sure they are prepared before traveling to a DMV office, and many DMV services are available online or by mail.
