Salem Police Looking for Missing Man

Michael VanDeVeer

(SALEM OR) - Michael VanDeVeer, 63 years of age, left an adult foster care facility located in the 1700 block of Plateau St NE on an errand last Tuesday at about 1:00 PM and never returned.

VanDeVeer has medical issues for which he needs to take medication. He did not take any medication with him.

VanDeVeer is described as a white male, 6'02" tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes.

He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, a black jacket, black and green pants, and white shoes.

Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to telephone the Salem Police at (503)588-6123.

Salem Police Lt. Steve Burr told Salem-News, "This is inconsistent with his behavior, the facility where he lives has a curfew."

He is medically endangered according to Burr, "We are quite concerned for him." "He was just going for a walk to get some ice cream."
