(Monmouth, Oregon) - No. 6 nationally ranked Seattle Pacific never trailed in rolling to a 89-74 men`s basketball victory over Western Oregon on Thursday night at the Physical Education Building. Dustin Bremerman had 15 points in the first half and Tony Binetti had 13 in the second half for the balanced Falcons, who improved to 10-1 on the season and to 2-0 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Western Oregon dropped to 6-6 overall and to 1-2 in league play. Binetti finished with 24 points in the game, hitting 8 of 11 shots from the field while also dishing out four assists. Bremerton, who nailed four of six shots from three-point range, tallied 17. Mike Bushmaker missed just one shot in scoring 14 points off the bench, while Robbie Will and Jared Moultrie added 12 points each. The Wolves missed their first seven shots from the field as the Falcons raced out to a 14-2 lead. WOU twice cut the lead to five points before the half, but SPU answered each time and led at the break, 47-33. WOU`s leading scorer Kevin Tyner (18 ppg) didn`t score for the first 26 minutes of the contest, and didn`t convert his first field goal until 9:22 remained. He finished with 10 points, to share home scoring honors with Stanley Ratcliff and Corey Allen. The Wolves shot just 41 percent from the floor in the game, while SPU nailed 58 percent of their attempts. The visitors also nailed nine of 17 shots from three-point range.
