The suspect is suspected of cutting and gluing women's hair, as well as other charges involving burglary.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - 22-year old Jared Weston Walter was arrested on Dec. 31, 2009 at the Milwaukie Transit Center, following an alleged hair-cutting incident involving a female victim.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Det. Jim Strovink says in the wake of news stories about Walter's arrest, additional potential victims have come to the attention of the investigators.

At this time, the Sheriff's Office has received information from five female victims reporting that their hair had been glued while they were moving about in public places or places of business.

"Also, three additional female victims have reported to the Sheriff's Office that they have been the victims of hair-cutting incidents -- all in Clackamas County," Strovink said.

"It is known that Jared Walter previously resided in The Bluffs apartments, located on SE River Road in Milwaukie. The Sheriff's Office is investigating three residential burglaries reported in this apartment complex; these burglaries were reported to deputies in September and October of 2009."

He says deputies investigating these three residential burglaries report that Jared Walter is a person of interest in these reported crimes.

"In one of the three apartment burglaries, the female victim had reportedly been sleeping at the time of an illegal entry into her residence. When she awakened in the morning, she discovered that an 'oily substance' had been applied to her hair during the night while she had been sleeping".

Strovink says this victim soon discovered that an unknown intruder had also stolen her purse and its contents from the residence.

Strovink says the Clackamas County Office is grateful to the female victims for coming forward to report these hair-gluing and -cutting incidents. These peculiar types of crimes often go unreported by victims.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information concerning these crimes to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
