Joint New Year Message from Worldwide Tamil Entities: A Solemn Pledge to Work for International Investigation

(WASHINGTON, DC) - On this New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014, Tamil entities around the world pledge our renewed commitment to bring freedom, justice, peace and dignity to our Tamil brethren living in the occupied NorthEast of Sri Lanka. With our diverse backgrounds we are united in working for our people who have been oppressed by the successive Sri Lankan regimes since “independence” in 1948, and pledge to work against the continuing oppression of the Tamil Nation.

We highlight that the Tamil people don’t have any faith in the government of Sri Lanka and have democratically provided an overwhelming mandate for an independent international investigation in the Northern Provincial Council election held in September 2013. We point out to the International Community that even after two resolutions by the United Nations Human Rights Council, Sri Lanka is defiant, denying justice and political rights to the Tamils. We note that the Sri Lanka’s domestic Commission of Inquiry even with the participation of the International Independent Group of Eminent Persons from 11 countries failed to offer justice to the Tamils in 2008.

We reject any and all domestic inquiry mechanisms, and fully commit ourselves to mobilize the International Community to establish an independent international investigation by the United Nations to investigate war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against the Tamils.

ெிமியங்கா இணுல ஆக்கிப்பிற்ு உட்பட்டு இருக்ும் லடக்ுக்கிறக்கில் லாழும் எம் உடன்பிமந்த தழ் க்களுக்ு லிடுதமயம், நீதிம், நிமயன அமதிம் கிமடக்க ஒன்றுபட்டு உமறப்பபாசன்று புத்தாண்டு நாராகி ெனலரி 1, 2014 இல் உயகராலி தழ் உருலாக்கங்கள் ொர்பாக ண்டும் எது உறுதிப்பாட்மட லறங்ுகின்பமாம். இயங்மகத் தீவு “சுதந்திம்” சபற்ம 1948ஆம் ஆண்டு ுதல், ெிமியங்கா அனால் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டுலரும் எம் க்களுக்காகக் ுல் சகாடுக்க, பல்பலறு பின்னைிகமரக் சகாண்ட நாம் அமனலரும் ஒன்றுபட்டு நிற்கின்பமாம். அத்துடன் தழ்த் பதெத்தின்து சதாடரும் ஒடுக்ுுமமம எதிர்த்துநிற்பபாம் என உறுதிரிக்கின்பமாம்.

செப்டம்பர் 2013 இல் நடந்த லடக்ு காை அமலத் பதர்தயில், ெிமியங்கா அல் தக்ு அண்ைரவு நம்பிக்மகம் இல்மயசன்பமத சலரிப்படுத்திம், பக்கொர்பற்ம பன்னாட்டு லிொமைம பலண்டிம், க்கராட்ெி ுமமப்படி தழ் க்கள் சகாடுத்த கப் சபரும் ஆமைக்ு நாம் ுதன்மத்துலம் அரிக்கின்பமாம். ஐ.நா. னித உரிமகள் பபமலல் இண்டு ுமம நிமமபலற்மப்பட்ட தீர்னங்கமரப் புமந்தள்ரி, தழ் க்களுக்ு நீதிமம் அல் உரிமமம் சகாடுக்க றுக்ும் ெிமியங்கா அன் எபதச்மென பபாக்மக நாம் அமனத்துயக ெூகத்திற்ுச் சுட்டிக் காட்டுகின்பமாம். 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டில் “அமனத்துயக பக்கொர்பற்ம பபரர் ுழும்“ என்று, பதிசனாரு பன்னாட்டுப் புகழ்க்க லல்லுனர்கமர உள்ரடக்கிம் ூட, ெிமியங்கா அன் உள்ரக லிொமை ஆமைக்ுழு தறர்களுக்ு நீதிலறங்கத் தலமிமத நாம் எடுத்துக் காட்டுகின்பமாம்.

ஆக, அமனத்து உள்நாட்டு லிொமைப் சபாமிுமமகமரம் நாம் அடிபடு நிகரிக்கிபமாம். எது க்களுக்சகதிக இமறக்கப்பட்ட பபார்க்ுற்மங்கள், னிடத்திற்சகதின ுற்மங்கள், இனப்படுசகாமய ஆகிலற்மம ஆய்ந்து சபாறுப்புக்ூறும் பக்கொர்பற்ம பன்னாட்டு லிொமைம ஐக்கி நாடுகள் அமலன் துமைடன் உருலாக்ுலதற்ு அமனத்துயகச் ெூகத்தின் ஆதமல அைிதிட்ட இப்புத்தாண்டில் உறுதி எடுத்துக்சகாள்கின்பமாம்.

இந்த ங்கரகன புத்தாண்டு நன்நாரில், நீதிம் ெத்துலும் சுதந்திம் தமறத்பதாங்ும் அமதி நிமமந்த உயமக, நாம் பலண்டி நிற்கின்பமாம்.
