National Summit to Reassess the U.S. - Israel 'Special Relationship'

Israel is often considered a key ally for the United States. More U.S. tax money has been given to Israel than to any other nation—currently more than $8 million per day. The U.S. provides Israel trading advantages, loan guarantees, weaponry, technology. At the same time, the U.S. has a long record of vetoing Security Council resolutions regarding Israel.

The summit will provide overdue analysis from a wide variety of expert perspectives on what such policies mean for Americans. Are they efficacious or damaging? Do they make the U.S. secure or place Americans in danger? Do they increase or decrease U.S. standing in the world? Do they benefit the economy or add to American financial troubles?
