Mirror for BlindPoetry by William Gomes for Salem-News.com
Clarity would help our world leaders...
(SAYDABAD, Bangladesh) - It is wonderful to publish poems on a Sunday, of course our poems at Salem-News are real life and far from fun in endless ways, but in a world as broken as this one is, we are honoring the art form and making it useful.
William Gomes in Bangladesh, is an amazing researcher with a big heart and it is because of his efforts that we recently launched our 'Eye on the World' reports, which are vitally important not just for the individuals in peril we discuss, but because each represents a case of unenforced laws.
As a poet, William Gomes' works compliment Salem-News.com poets Nahida Izzat in London, and Luke Easter in Cleveland. His contributions to the world through journalism and official outreach are meaningful and constant, there are few things I admire more.
The government corruption and abuse of privilege under the color of law that allows these crimes to take place, are leaving human victims in the wake.
Who are these men that seek to over control the people of this world?
Why do they allow such miserable living conditions for the people they are elected to serve?
This is a reflection on a poem “Looking in the mirror- (3)” written by prominent Sri Lankan born jurist, author, poet, human rights activist, prolific writer Mr. Basil Fernando.
Mirror for Blind
By William Gomes
The mirror is shining
The Men are dancing on their success
They have different name but they are blind
The men are killing each other
They will Send Guru in Exile!
Yes, they are serious too!
Yes, they are blind, they cannot see
