27th Annua' 'Give Peace a Dance' Happens this March at the Grand Ballroom

This is an evening that has something for everyone and benefits a great cause – the peace efforts of Oregon PeaceWorks.

Peace Dance

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon PeaceWorks is proud to announce that for the 27th year running, it will again sponsor Oregon’s foremost peace party. Give Peace a Dance will take place March 12th at the Grand Ballroom in Salem (700 Marion St. NE) from 6-11 p.m.

This year’s event boasts of an incredible auction that can be previewed online at http://www.biddingforgood.com/OPW – with offerings you will not want to miss such as vacations, gift baskets, collectibles & unique Salem-based getaways.

The history of the ‘Give Peace A Dance’ started years ago as a marathon event of dancing and today has become a community event where people join to support great causes such as peace and environmental sustainability, and quite simply to spend time coming together as a whole.

The event combines music, dance, hilarious comedy and the unique opportunity to walk away with a variety of local gifts and offerings for an evening of community and camaraderie. Noted entertainment is the Ty Curtis band and the razor-sharp political satire of Dr. Atomic’s Medicine Show, always a favorite with Give Peace a Dance audiences.

Directly following will be the oral auction, conducted by Peaceworks’ Executive Director Peter Bergel, featuring an impressive range of exciting items. The Ty Curtis Band will round out the evening with a night of dancing. Throughout the evening, there will be a delicious array of appetizers and desserts catered by Spice Islands Catering, a no-host bar and a silent auction with additional items to bid upon.

This is an evening that has something for everyone and benefits a great cause – the peace efforts of Oregon PeaceWorks. Admission is $15 in advance or $18 at the door, which includes admission and food. To purchase tickets, call www.oregonpeaceworks.org.
