(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - On Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m., employees of the Clackamas County Bank located at 2482 SE Burnside Rd called 911 indicating the bank was being robbed. The robber was described as a 6'2 thin white male, wearing a motorcycle helmet and brandishing a gun. The suspect reportedly took an undisclosed amount of money. Witnesses at the scene observed the suspect leave the bank and get into a red Toyota sedan with Oregon license plate SRQ-823. Responding officers searched the area but were unable to locate the Toyota. Later that day, a Troutdale Police Department officer reportedly located the suspect driving the same vehicle along Columbia River Hwy near Frontage road. As assisting officers converged on the area, the suspect reportedly began to elude driving on Frontage road then West on I-84. Officers from Troutdale and Gresham, along with deputies from Multnomah County engaged in the pursuit, and followed the suspect as he turned south onto NE 181st Ave. As the suspect turned West onto NE San Rafel Street from NE 181st Avenue he careened his vehicle into a woman driving a Mini Cooper, according to reports. The suspect then continued along San Rafel and trailing officers stayed with the uninjured woman, police said. The chase came to a halt when the suspect flattened two tires while trying to drive up on curbs near NE 169th Avenue and NE Halsey Street. Police say the suspect fled on foot but was quickly captured by numerous officers and deputies. Investigators at the scene were able to identify 51-year old Ronald William Henning II by his prison identification card found in his wallet. Mr. Henning's last known residence was in Sandy Oregon. He was not injured in the incident. He was placed in the custody of the FBI for further questioning and investigation. There is no additional information to be released at this time.
