(Corvallis) - The Corvallis Police Department is seeking information about a serious assault that occurred in the 1600 block of NW Garryanna Street on Wednesday, February 22nd at about 12:20 PM.

The incident started as "road rage" on Highway 20 between Albany and Corvallis.

Information is being sought about the suspect vehicle and the dealership where it may have been purchased.

Lt. Ron Noble says the suspect vehicle is described as a dark blue (possibly black) newer-model Ford Expedition or Explorer with a temporary registration in the back window. The temporary registration may start with "A17". The vehicle had a dealership placard where the license plate is normally placed. The placard had a picture of a rainbow and some cars.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 30s, 5'10" to 6' tall, muscular build weighing about 160 - 170 lbs, with a shaved hair style and possibly a mustache. He was wearing a dark blue muscle shirt. There was a female passenger, described as white, about 5'8" to 5'-9", medium build with long dark hair past her shoulders. A small child (an infant or toddler) was also in the suspect vehicle Noble said.

The victim was driving a white work van with side and top racks. He says that following some reckless driving on Hwy 20, the suspect followed him into into Corvallis. When the victim exited his work van, the suspect seriously assaulted the victim. The female passenger got out of the suspect vehicle, but made no attempt to stop the assault. The suspect left in the vehicle prior to police arrival.

Noble said the victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment. He under went surgery Wednesday evening to repair several fractures to his face.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information about the possible identity of the suspect or information regarding the dealership that issued the advertisement placard should contact the Corvallis Police Department at (541) 766-6924.
