(BATTLE GROUND, Wash.) - Battle Ground Police Detectives arrested 41-year old Dee Ann Brede of Battle Ground today for embezzling over $11,000. Brede was the treasurer of the 2009 Battle Ground High School Grad Night Committee. The position is volunteer and not affiliated with the school district. Battle Ground Police Sgt. Jason Perdue says in the Vice President/Treasurer position, Brede collected money from fundraisers to support the graduation party of the senior class. "Brede also collected funds from the sale of tickets to the event, held for Battle Ground High School Seniors after graduation," Perdue said. "While holding the volunteer position, Brede converted funds to personal use by depositing the funds into the established bank account and subsequently withdrawing the funds for personal use," Perdue added. Brede was booked into the Clark County Jail for first-degree Theft and 11 counts of Forgery.
