European Roma Apartheid--Immoral, Inhuman & a SinIntro by Tim King Salem-News.com
Rajan Zed, President, Universal Society of Hinduism, speaks out against European Roma (Gypsy) apartheid.
(SACRAMENTO, CA) - Americans hold a high opinion of Europeans and yet they fail to understand the disparity faced by Roma, or Gypsy people, who live with unequal laws, persecution and blatant prejudice.
Distinguished Hindu Statesman Rajan Zed dedicates his life toward raising awareness of this critical issue. I have had the pleasure of meeting this man and sitting down with him to discuss the human rights challenges we both work to reverse.
In the video he reveals his sadness over the continuing problems that are an extension of centuries of terrible abuse that Roma people have never been able to escape.
Roma children face segregated schooling in several European countries, that is if the schools in Europe accept them at all. Their plight is the opposite of the Jews who have the total support of western governments since the years of the Holocaust. Perhaps many people today do not even realize that the Roma were an express target of Nazi Germany.
As a distinguished Hindu, Mr. Zed rallies for people of a totally different faith and culture and yet this is no obstacle, just as rallying for an endless number of religious faiths at Salem-News.com takes place on a daily basis without any hesitation.
Watch this five-minute video-statement of distinguished religious statesman Rajan Zed on apartheid conditions faced by about 15-million Roma (Gypsies) in Europe:
