Israel Falling Apart and Lashing Out

Lessons in history tell us that the meanness will get worse as the regime feels cornered and will not face the reality of its own racism but starts to lash-out at anything and everything, the last stage of dismantlement of racism.

Israeli settler graffiti
Israeli settler graffiti threatens the existence of local Palestinians whose families have lived here for generations.

(USH GHRAIB, Palestine) - Settlers come to Ush Ghrab in Beit Sahour every week and the army lies to the mayor of Beit Sahour by claiming that their presence deters the settlers.

The reverse is true and settlers of course get army permission and protection which emboldens them.

On Feb 5th, when the army was bulldozing in the area and had a military order for closing the area for military purposes preventing us from getting close, the settlers were inside and having a lecture (and bragged about it on their website).

At the end of the video from Al-Masara confrontation Friday, I had a short section with settler graffiti at the wall in Ush Ghrab.

Many who watched the video asked me what it says. Here it goes: "To our dear soldiers, Welcome back to Shdema!"

"When the IDF wants - he is the Best!" "To the IDF, Welcome to Jewish Shdema" + star of david, "To the IDF with love, from the Committee for Shdema".

It is time for putting up stiffer resistance to the occupier presence (soldiers and settlers).

Video of Israeli military attack on Palestinian nonviolent demonstration at Al-Masara Friday, 19 Feb.
Without warning the Israeli army shoots concussion grenades and tear gas canisters.

Bethlehem area showed the success of strong popular resistance in the 1980s (e.g. with the tax revolt) and we see its success in places like Bil'in today. Join us Sunday Morning (10:30) in Ush Ghrab in Beit Sahour.

[Good read] How Settlers Prevented The Construction of a Palestinian Hospital by Hagit Ofran" Once again, even Americans cannot stand up to a small group of settlers, who show - more often than not - that they have the last word on what takes place in the West Bank.

This time, a small group of settlers insisted, and succeeded, to squash a plan for building a hospital for Palestinian children at "Oush Grab" ("the Crow's Nest") east of Bethlehem": How Settlers Prevented The Construction of a Palestinian Hospital huffingtonpost.com

Under pressure from settlers, IDF rebuilding West Bank watchtower: Under pressure from settlers, IDF rebuilding West Bank watchtower Haaretz

On the scandal of the Israeli abuse of British passports, see The tide has changed by Gilad Atzmon This scandal is even incensing traditional Israeli apologists. One Zionist who regularly writes in Haaretz wrote: "Determined to take our fate into its own hands. Israel, at its highest level, has decided that the job of delegitimizing the Jewish state must not be left to foreigners and amateurs. Showing itself desperate to be a pariah state, Israel will now get it done on its own. What the far-left from Britain to Berkeley has been been unable to bring off - a sense among Israel's allies that Israel has become a heartless, morally heedless aggressor state worthy of sanction and shunning - the far-right in Israel's own government, and in particular, its Foreign Ministry, seems determined to inculcate to the full.

It wasn't enough to threaten our relations with the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Austria and the whole of the European Union, as well as the emirates and other moderate Muslim states, by apparently violating the basic conventions of all civilized states in the Dubai murder. .." What this gentleman fails to see is that this was the predictable outcome of the enterprise in the same way that Apartheid in South Africa had a predictable outcome.

Unfortunately, those lessons in history tell us that the meanness will get worse as the regime feels cornered and will not face the reality of its own racism but starts to lash-out at anything and everything. That is the last stage of dismantlement of racism. ======================================================

The canary in the coal mine: Jews leave Swedish city after sharp rise in anti-Semitic hate crimes
telegraph.co.uk ^ | Feb. 21, 2010 | Nick Meo When she first arrived in Sweden after her rescue from a Nazi concentration camp, Judith Popinski was treated with great kindness. She raised a family in the city of Malmo, and for the next six decades lived happily in her adopted homeland - until last year. In 2009, a chapel serving the city's 700-strong Jewish community was set ablaze. Jewish cemeteries were repeatedly desecrated, worshippers were abused on their way home from prayer, and "Hitler" was mockingly chanted in the streets by muslim men. "I never thought I would see this hatred again in my lifetime, not in Sweden anyway," Mrs Popinski told The Sunday Telegraph. "This new hatred comes from Muslim immigrants. The Jewish people are afraid now." Malmo's Jews, however, do not just point the finger at bigoted Muslims and their fellow racists, they also accuse Ilmar Reepalu, the Left-wing mayor who has been in power for 15 years, of failing to protect them. Mr Reepalu, who is blamed for lax policing, is at the centre of a growing controversy for saying that what the Jews perceive as naked anti-Semitism is in fact just a sad, but understandable consequence of Israeli policy in the Middle East. While his views are far from unusual on the European liberal-left, which is often accused of a pro-Palestinian bias, his Jewish critics say they encourage young Muslim hotheads to abuse and harass them. The future looks so bleak that by one estimate, around 30 Jewish families have already left for Stockholm, England or Israel, and more are preparing to go. These same types of behavior can be found not just in Sweden, but all over europe. If and whan this happens in the states, it will not go on for very long. Would the same behavior be suicidal in nature if it happens here?

Editor: The fallout from Israel's desire to essentially eliminate the Palestinian population and steal everything these poor people have certainly has a worldwide effect, you are certainly right about that.  I don't live in Sweden so I can't really comment on their affairs, and remember that all of the things you cite absolutely pale in comparison to Israeli aggression against peaceful Palestinians.  I have covered crimes against Jewish synagogues also, Nazi's are at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to racism.  Of course it is almost humorous to picture Muslims, who are clearly not part of Hitler's perceived "master race" chanting things like his name.  I think that when things become desperate, people stoop to very low levels.  Just remember it all is tied to Israeli expansionist policy and their desire to treat people in ways that are on a level with the worst things in humanity.  Just today I am publishing a new piece from one of our contributors in West Bank documenting the IDF attacking a peaceful protest in Palestine.  The protestors look at the camera and say, "look, we are all unarmed, and this soldier has a gas grenade, ask him why"  The IDF is a group of thugs that need world intervention, but this is the world that let the Third Reich take place, and today it keeps a blind eye to the Israeli atrocities in Gaza and so many other places.  Thanks for your comment.

This title is a great ! Israel IS falling apart...! just keep it up, these types of headlines followed by descriptions of what is happening to Palestinians. Israel on Last Legs, Israel about to Capitulate to Peace, Israel Sees Errors of it Ways, Israelis Want Peace and Justice for Palestine, Israelis Beginning to Understand Insanity of Long Torture of Palestine, Israel Abandoned by World Over Palestinian Apartheid and Genocide. Like that. We put our own spin on the news that way.
