Suspect Sought in Salem Armed Robbery

The suspect is described as white, 5’8, average build, with brown hair.

(SALEM) - The Marion County Sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed a Salem tavern Monday afternoon.

Sgt. Jeff Wheeler says at approximately 11:30 AM, a lone suspect entered the Free Loader Tavern located at 501 Lancaster Dr NE, through a backdoor, approached the bartender, brandished a weapon, and demanded money.

After retrieving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect left the tavern via the rear door and ran towards Meadowlawn Drive SE, Wheeler said.

The suspect is described as white, 5’8, average build, with brown hair. He was last seen wearing a mask that covered his nose and lower face area.

did he have a Texas accent?.,it may have been Rumsfeld too!,being out of work and all, all hunched over to avoid recognition,probably stopped in for a brew and lost control!
