MojoMan; I Was in the Gulf of Thailand when boxer day Tsunami hit the Andaman Ocean side of the country, sitting on my balcony enjoying the view when it actually struck, a brief mention on the BBC about an earthquake in the Bay of Bengal-Andaman chain of islands, and it was over for more than TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND PEOPLE in less than FIVE minutes from landfall! Of those an estimated FIVE THOUSAND are still unnacounted for in the area of Phuket Island., to the Burma border town of Ranong three hundred K. north.,these were primarily tourists and info derived from number of unclaimed seats on return flights and embassy-immigration officals who document foreigners movements. There have been at least three more sub ocean earthquakes on the same fault, minimum five on up Richter wise and the fault line is three qurters intact!,nother 600 kilommeters left still waiting to drop an estimated five to eight meters when it happens., I'm not sure of San Andreas specs., and am out of area but I don't think it's time to invest in shorline property, and have a way out fast.
