(SALEM) - As of 6:30 PM Saturday, Highway 22 is closed westbound just east of Salem after a double fatality involving as many as three vehicles. Traffic is being detoured from the Gaffin Road exit on to Cordon Road. Eastbound traffic is moving through using the shoulder of the highway. The accident occurred early this evening around milepost 4 near Dearpark Road east of Salem. The westbound lanes of the highway will be closed for at least two hours as the State Police conduct a reconstruction of the accident. Motorists are encouraged to check www.tripcheck.com or call 511 for the latest road conditions.
