(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to a report of a car down an embankment and into a creek shortly after 4:00 PM this afternoon on Cornelius Pass Road, approximately a fourth of a mile from St. Helens Road. Lt. AJ Jackson with Portland Fire & Rescue says people were able to see the vehicle but all the information wasn't clear. "Passerbys had stopped and called into the 911 Emergency Call Center to report seeing one person in the car but were unsure if there were other passengers." That's when additional Portland Fire & Rescue crews were called to the scene Jackson said, including Dive Van 1. "Crews arrived a short time later to find a single car down a 50 ft embankment with the sedan roof partially submerged in the creek," Jackson said. It was verified that there was one female occupant in the car who was already deceased.
