christmas scene

(SALEM) - Friends, Readers and All Others:

This year’s Christmas season is so fraught with dire possibility and definite debacles, on nearly every side, that reminiscence from the ‘70s brought out again a moving moment-then, from BCR, prior to her six-year illness with Alzheimer’s.

SO --with some small misgivings, but encouraged by the kind comments over some past months from so many of you, here’s Bea’s “70s Moment” to add its solid strength to your Holiday Season, whatever it may be --with Best Christmas Wishes from Op Eds/Salem-News:

“Hang In There, Baby!” Hang in there, Baby! Maybe Your life’s rocking and reeling, You’re not feeling groovy; More like a Grade B horror-movie. Hang in there, Baby! Maybe In this comedy of compulsive errors Somehow we’ll lick these terrors.

Hang in there, Baby! Maybe Above all the yak and chatter Things matter.

Like the human encounter; and trial That gives to existence style. ---BCR 1970

Anna: Your sensitive insight appreciated. BCR's comment covered whole worldful at that time...as is unfortunately same picture now. Christmas Spirit is one of few remaining antidotes for those too-worldly impacts.

That's real style. I needed that! Thanks for noticing the chatter that takes over the month of December, it does get somewhat annoying. However, it has worth, and all things matter whether or not we understand why. To each, our own, and to each, also, strength and courage, always.
