Dec-20-2010 15:07TweetFollow @OregonNews Life and Death of Rachel Corrie in VideoSalem-News.comRachel Corrie personified everything that is right and decent about the United States of America.
(RAFAH, Gaza Strip) - Gilad Atzmon: This video is one of the strongest and clearest messages I have ever come across. If Israel won't stop itself. Humanity will eventually unite against this disgraceful state!! Rachel Corrie was killed by an Israeli military forces Caterpillar bulldozer on 16 March in 2003 while trying to halt the illegal destruction of a Palestinian doctor's home. And after seven years Rachel's family is still struggling to prosecute the Israeli government, without success. This video shows Rachel Corrie as a young girl addressing her community and asking them to understand the needs of the poor and the hungry and the oppressed people. She told them those living in the third world have the same feelings, losses, tears and appreciations, as their western counterparts; those born under more fortunate circumstances. People like Rachel, and she knew that. The struggle of the Palestinians and Israel's quest to absolutely crush these people who legally owned the land Israel has taken over the last sixty years, is personified in Rachel Corrie, and so is everything that is right and decent about the United States of America. Special thanks to Gilad Atzmon and Mohamad Yousef for this video clip telling the story of Rachel, her family and her compatriots. As always, our special thanks to: International Solidarity Movement ____________________________________________________

I saw and recommend "Rachel," a documentary shown last year at the Jewish Film Festival in San Francisco. Cindy Corrie, Rachel's mother, was present for a Q and A after the film.I commend the Jewish Film Festival for showing the film. Unfortunately, some within the Jewish community see a "new anti-Semitism" when criticism of Israel is depicted in films like "Rachel." I like to think that "Rachel" will spark a healthy debate within the Jewish Community about the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Certainly, the audience at the theater enthusiastically welcomed the film.
