Dec-20-2007 16:50TweetFollow @OregonNews Statement by TurboTax Regarding the Oregon Kicker Rebate SituationSalem-News.com"We are entirely focused on ensuring that taxpayers who file their returns using TurboTax can be confident that the information entered was accurately reported to the state." - TurboTax
(SAN DIEGO, Calif.) - TurboTax in California says they understand the concern of, and empathize with, Oregonians who may have had their kicker refund given to the State School Fund in error. "Since this issue was brought to our attention last week, we have thoroughly reviewed and researched how TurboTax software handles the Kicker Rebate." "Based on these results, we believe TurboTax accurately calculated and reported the Kicker Rebate to the Oregon Department of Revenue, as we have been unable to find anything that indicates there is a problem with the software. We have shared these findings with the state." According to Rosemary Hardin of the Department of Revenue, the agency is 'not convinced it's a software issue.' TurboTax says they will continue to work with customers and the Oregon Department of Revenue to understand the problem, identify the source of this issue and remedy it as quickly as possible. "We are entirely focused on ensuring that taxpayers who file their returns using TurboTax can be confident that the information entered was accurately reported to the state." Story continues below "If any Oregonian thinks their Kicker Rebate was erroneously donated to the State School Fund rather than refunded, please call the Oregon Department of Revenue at (503) 378-4988 or toll-free (800) 356-4222."
