Road Closures Planned for Tom Tennant‏ Memorial Service

(WOODBURN, Ore.) - The memorial service for Woodburn Police Captain Tom Tennant will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, December 19th 2008 at the Salem Armory Auditorium located at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem Oregon. Prior to the memorial service Friday, a procession will take place from the Woodburn Drag Strip located at 7730 Highway 219 in Woodburn to the Salem Armory at 2329 17th Street NE in Salem.

Temporary road closures will affect Highway 214 from Woodburn Drag Strip to Highway 99 E and south on Highway 99 E to Lana Avenue NE in Salem, beginning at 10:15 AM. The temporary closures will continue on Silverton Road NE to 17th Street NE.

Please expect delays along this route. Road closures will be removed as soon as the procession has passed.

Captain Tom Tennant, 51, died December 12, 2008, when an explosive device detonated at a Woodburn area bank.

The families of Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Bill Hakim, Woodburn Captain Tom Tennant and Woodburn Police Chief Scott Russell greatly appreciate the outpouring of prayers and support they are receiving from friends and citizens.
