(GREENVILLE, S.C) - For the second straight week, Corban's men's basketball team finds itself ranked among the top teams in the nation according to Friday's Top 10 poll that was released by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA). Despite dropping two spots from last week's poll after a pair of losses over the weekend, the Warriors are 13th in the country and receiving votes for the second straight week. Corban is coming off a 77-49 win last night over NCCAA Division II member Multnomah and will be returning to the hardwood later this evening against NCAA Division III and Northwest Conference member Pacific University of Oregon. According to this week's national poll, the top five teams in the nation did not change with Dallas Baptist University coming in at No. 1. The Top 5 also includes Indiana Wesleyan University, Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Emmanuel College, and Palm Beach Atlantic University. Rounding out the bottom half of the poll are newcomers Campbellsville University and Geneva College along with Malone University, Grace College, and preseason No. 1-ranked King College. Bethel College and Mid-American Christian University are also receiving votes along with the Warriors. Corban is currently 8-4 overall and 0-3 in Cascade Collegiate Conference games. The Warriors are led in scoring by junior Erik Cronrath (Battle Ground, Wash.) with an average of 16.8 points per game, while freshman Jordan Carter (Salem, Ore.) and senior Ian Logan (Aloha, Ore.) are also scoring in double figures with averages of 13.4 and 11.4 respectively. Inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center, Corban is unbeaten this season with a record of 3-0 and holds an 8-1 overall mark against non-conference teams. The Warriors are averaging 81.8 points per game and pulling down 39.7 rebounds per contest, which is 3.6 points and 7.0 rebounds more than their opponents. Following tonight's match-up with the visiting Boxers at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center, Corban will head south to take on New Hope Christian College on Saturday, December 18th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Eugene. The Warriors will then return home on Monday, December 20th, to take on NCAA Division III and Northwest Conference member George Fox at 7:30 p.m. in their final non-conference game of the season. Corban will start up the Cascade Collegiate Conference schedule once again on Wednesday, December 30th, against the NAIA's No. 11-ranked Owls of Oregon Tech beginning at 5:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center before taking on nationally-ranked Southern Oregon twenty-four hours later before the calendar switches to 2011.
