Two Men Indicted for Murder

Silverton Police Department Responded to a Report of a Deceased Male, The Death Was Ruled Suspicious

(SALEM OR) - Today a Marion County Grand Jury issued indictments charging Uriah Michael Dean McKinley, 22, and Andrew James Slover, 23, with the death of Jeffrey Edward Lamoreaux, 30.

The indictment against Uriah Michael Dean McKinley charges him with Murder with a Firearm, Robbery in the First Degree with a Firearm, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle, and Possession of Methamphetamine.

The indictment against Andrew James Slover charges him with Murder and Robbery in the First Degree.

On December 2, 2013, at 1704, the Silverton Police Department responded to a report of a deceased male inside the home at 218 Olson Road, Silverton, Oregon.

Upon further investigation, the death was ruled suspicious.

The deceased male was identified as Jeffrey Edward Lamoreaux.

The Silverton Police Department was assisted by members of the Marion County Homicide Assault Response Team (H.A.R.T.), specifically, the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Keizer Police Department, Oregon State Police, and Woodburn Police Department. The U.S. Marshall Fugitive Task Force assisted with the investigation as well.

Dr. Clifford Nelson of the Office of the State Medical Examiner performed an autopsy on Lamoreaux and determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds of the head, and the manner of death to be homicide.

The defendants' next court appearance is on December 16, 2013, at 3:00pm, for arraignment on the indictments.

The defendants are currently in custody at the Marion County Jail.
