Three People Injured as Vehicle Crashes Into Tigard Salon‏

Ironically, this is the second time in two years that this Tigard salon has been hit; the firefighters who responded to the first accident were also first to arrive and treat today's victims.

(TIGARD, Ore.) - Police in Tigard say a 75-year old woman accidentally drove her Mercedes C230 into the Dobler Salon and Swails located at 12950 SW Pacific Highway this morning at 11:00 AM.

Jim Wolf with Tigard Police says the car struck two women inside the salon who were treated by firefighter paramedics from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue and transported by Metro West Ambulance to a local hospital.

"One of the struck women was initially pinned by the vehicle. She sustained more significant injuries and was entered into the trauma system. An additional woman in the salon was struck with debris, but she chose not to be transported."

Wolf says members of Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue's Technical Rescue Team shored up the entry of the building to ensure that it was structurally sound.

"Nearby businesses remained open and traffic was slowed on 99W for about 45 minutes after the incident. Ironically, this is the second time in two years that this Tigard salon has been hit," Wolf said.

The firefighters who responded to the first accident were also first to arrive and treat today's victims.

Tigard Police officers assisted with scene safety and traffic control, Wolf states, "At this time there will not likely be a citation issued. This was just a very unfortunate accident."
