Taliban Reports Shocking to Americans

For some the images are revolting, yet it is undeniable proof that the conflict in Afghanistan has been very costly.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Taliban press officials have contacted Salem-News.com and other Oregon news agencies, providing their latest news releases detailing Mujahideen combat operations against US and NATO forces, photos, and "New different video clips of killing Americans and Nato soldiers in Afghanistan".

I should clarify that I do not have definitive proof that the email and associated photos and video clips originated from the Taliban, but I suspect they probably did.

The reports are important in several ways; and while the average American may become heated when reading the view from the other side, no person worth their salt doesn't want a view into the opponent's camp. That is one way of looking at it.

For others, it is the proof that the conflict in Afghanistan is going very poorly by any standard. One item included with this overview report, is a video of very serious, deadly combat involving Mujahideen, American, Afghan National Army and other NATO troops.

The first video below on the right is what appears to be, a propaganda video from the Taliban, with footage of a seemingly young Usama bin Laden. Footage ranges from operations against the Soviets in the 1980's, to the current war in Afghanistan. It is difficult at times to determine which of these wars you are looking at.

Some of the footage is reminiscent of the American Indian conflict in the mid and late 1800's, where Native Americans stayed on high ground and were always aware of their enemy's movement.

The second video posted below is more shocking and an even harsher dose of Americans being attacked while Taliban cameras capture the often devastating action. For those considering enlisting and volunteering to serve in the current war, regardless of your nationality, the second video is a must see. It is extremely graphic.

The first story submitted by the Taliban's Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, filed Tuesdayday, 7 December 2010, is titled: US tank blown apart in Panjwaee KANDAHAR, Dec. 07 – A US invaders tank was destroyed when a brave Mujahid of Islamic Emirate threw a bottle bomb on it in Panjwaee’s Zangabad area at 11:00 am as a result the tank caught fire killing and wounding all onboard. Mujahideen add that this successful tactic was used against the Soviets also.

The next entry, also from Tuesday, originates from a part of Afghanistan that I have visited personally; it is the region south of Kabul where several mountain bases are located. This 7 December 2010 news brief was filed by Zabihullah Mujahid, it is titled: Mujahideen kill 5 American invading troops in Logar

LOGAR, Dec 07 – Mujahideen officials say at least 3 US invaders were killed with another 2 badly injured today when Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate carried a surprise attack on the enemy patrol in Baraki Barak, Logar province. The attack occurred later Tuesday afternoon, in which of the enemy tank of the enemy was destroyed, as well.

The next story titled: Mujahideen kill 5 American invading troops in Logar was filed from the same region as the last account, 7 December 2010, by Zabihullah Mujahid.

LOGAR, Dec 07 – Mujahideen officials say at least 3 US invaders were killed with another 2 badly injured today when Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate carried a surprise attack on the enemy patrol in Baraki Barak, Logar province. The attack occurred later Tuesday afternoon, in which of the enemy tank of the enemy was destroyed, as well.

The title of the next story is: 4 NATO invaders killed, 3 wounded as their patrol comes under Mujahideen attack. This also was filed Tuesday by Zabihullah Mujahid. LOGAR, Dec. 07 – Some 4 NATO invading troops were killed and 3 more wounded Tuesday in a one-hour long encounter with Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate in Charkh district of Logar province, Mujahideen said from the scene.

The next report also took place in a part of Afghanistan that I visited and have some familiarity with. The Kunar region is on the edge of Pakistan's North-West Frontier territory.

An interesting dynamic taking place is the anti-Coalition's use of the term 'Mujahideen' which hearkens back to a time when Americans were still engaged in the Cold War, and the Afghan Mujahideen were fighting the Soviets during an invasion of their own soil.

The west at that point, was solidly behind what we remember as the Mujahideen.

It is true that many people in the Taliban today were in fact part of the Mujahideen that defeated the Soviets; a move that immediately preceded the collapse of the Soviet empire. It all becomes very bizarre that the US led war in Afghanistan engages the same people the west once praised.

KUNAR, Dec. 07 – In the province’s Asmar district, Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate caught the US invaders’ patrol in an ambush which turned into a face-to-face fighting on Tuesday.

According to the report, two American invaders were killed in the attack.

Remember as you read this, that the entries from the Taliban are not edited, but presented as they were to us. This is yet another entry from today, 7 December 2010, by the Taliban's Zabihullah Mujahid.

Attack on US patrol in Wardag, a dozen US invaders killed or wounded

WARDAG, Dec. 07 – According to a report from Wardag province, Mujahideen attacked the US invaders’ patrol in Sayedabad district on Tuesday morning.

A dozen US invaders were reported to have been killed or wounded.

The next entry also was filed today by Qari Yousuf Ahmadi; note the way the same exact language always used by the west, specifically the use of the term "terorist, isw also used by the Taliban. This news brief is titled Deadly explosion kills and wounds 5 American terrorists

ZABUL, Dec. 07 – At least 3 American terrorists were killed and 2 wounded at 01:00 pm when an IED exploded on them while carrying out an operation in Shahjoe’s Musa Zo Rod area.

The final entry in this Taliban news dispatch from this particular calendar day, was filed by Zabihullah Mujahid. It is titled: 5 US invaders killed, 3 hurt in Mujahideen attack

KUNAR, Dec. 07 – At least 5 US invading soldier were killed and 3 more wounded in an attacked by Mujahideen carried out on the enemy while on patrol mission in Shegal district of Kunar on Tuesday, at about 4:00 pm, local time, Mujahideen officials said today.

The reports beginning on 6 December 2010, start in the Helmand Province, where U.S. Marines have been engaged in brutal fighting with anti-Coalition militias in recent months. This article was published Monday, 6 December 2010 by the Taliban's Qari Yousuf Ahmadi. It is titled: Mujahideen seize 2 vehicles as NATO convoy comes under attack

HELMAND, Dec. 06 – Mujahideen waylaid a NATO logistical convoy in Gerishk district’s Zumbuli area at around 02:00 pm in which 4 logistical vehicles were destroyed and 2 supply vehicles seized. 4 security puppets were also wounded in the successful ambush.

BAKHLAN, Dec. 06 - The encounter occurred along the way between Pol-e-Khomri and Mazar-e-Sarif Monday at about 4 pm, the report indicated, adding that some 3 NATO invaders were killed and 2 were wounded with their tank destroyed during the one-hour long fighting.

The next piece filed by Zabihullah Mujahid Monday is titled: Enemy patrol vehicle eliminated in Balkh

BALKH, Dec. 06 - One of the puppets’ military vehicle was rocketed and destroyed when the enemy was on a patrol mission in Jamtal District of Balkh on Monday, nonetheless, no casualties were reported.

The Taliban's Qari Yousuf Ahmadi filed this news brief Monday, 6 December 2010, titled: 7 Canadian invaders killed by deadly explosion, tank destroyed KANDAHAR, Dec. 06 – Mujahideen officials from Panjwaee district say that a roadside bomb obliterated a Canadian invaders tank at 07:00 pm yesterday, instantly killing all 7 invaders onboard while travelling Safirano area’s road.

The next brief, filed Monday, 6 December 2010 by Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, like news items mentioned in this Salem-News.com report, are strictly uncorroborated by western governmental sources. It is very common for any military press office to exaggerate battle claims, we have no way of determining the legitimacy of this information. The next brief is titled: Roadside bomb hits American tank HELMAND, Dec. 06 – An American invaders tank was destroyed when it hit a roadside bomb at 02:00 pm yesterday while coming out of its base, killing and wounding all onboard in Khan-e-Sheen district’s Qala Naw area.

The next item, US tank eliminated in Gerimsir Monday, was filed 6 December 2010 by Qari Yousuf Ahmadi. HELMAND, Dec. 06 – An IED ripped through US invaders patrol at 02:00 pm in Gerimsir district’s Safar Bazaar. Mujahideen add that the invaders were attacked immediately after the explosion as a result 3 cowardly American terrorists lost their lives and 3 were seriously wounded.

Another report from the district says at around 04:00 pm yesterday, a roadside bomb blew apart a US tank, killing and wounding all inside in Wakil Karam village located close to the mentioned area.

Again, I caution readers that while casualties are unusually high in Afghanistan on the side of the US led mission, the number of items reported here are not verified. Filed 6 December 2010 by Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, this brief is titled US tank obliterated near Lashkargah city Monday HELMAND, Dec. 06 – Mujahideen from Lashkargah city say that a US invaders tank was obliterated by an IED in Babaji’s Loe Manda area at 08:00 pm last night (Dec. 05), killing all terrorists inside.

The final entry in this unusual dispatch from the Taliban was filed Sunday, 5 December 2010, by the Taliban's Zabihullah Mujahid. It is titled 3 US invaders killed, 2 injured in clash with Mujahideen in Afghanistan

LAGHMAN, Dec. 05 – At least 3 American troops were killed with another two injured during a clash that occurred in Alishang, Laghman province of Afghanistan on Sunday morning.
