(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a residential burglary and fire that happened Saturday in the 4000 block of 46th Ave NE. Sheriff's Detective Mathieu LaCrosse, who is also a fire investigator, worked with Fire Marshalls from Marion County Fire District and determined the fire was intentionally set and is being investigated as an arson. "It appears the suspect forced entry into the residence and stole jewelry and other undisclosed items. They then poured a flammable liquid throughout the house and lit it on fire," Lacrosse indicated. "Extensive damage was done to both the inside and outside of the home. No one was home at the time of the Burglary/Arson." Lacrosse says this is an ongoing investigation and the Sheriff's Office would like to ask if anyone has information regarding this case, they contact Detective LaCrosse at (503) 540-8007.
