Dec-04-2011 19:37TweetFollow @OregonNews Marines Arrested at Occupy LA - One Says Cops Threatened His Family's LivesTim King Salem-News.com"Our government is capable of making people disappear"
(LOS ANGELES) - Los Angeles Police took a Marine Veteran away without stating what the charges were at Occupy LA in late November. Jason Hurley's arrest was scarcely publicized, except for the coverage on YouTube and on the Occupy LA Website. We've reported a number of Marine Veterans being assaulted by police during the various Occupy movement gatherings in California. We also showed one stand down a whole row of Oakland cops in riot gear, among them another Iraq war Vet, screaming at the police for their tactics against unarmed people, calling their behavior 'shameful'. The Marine Vet in this account, Jason Hurley, was playing music and the cops, according to an account posted with the YouTube video, " ...beelined for him grabbed him and cuffed him without reading his his rights." Another occupier was said to have been shoved to the ground. The account has received little attention, as stated above, yet it is one more instance of police seemingly zeroing in on former Marines and other Vets. 12 Vets Arrested at Occupy LAIt is not confirmed, but apparently on 25 November 2011, twelve different military veterans taking part in the Occupy LA movement were placed under arrest. Perhaps the police view them as the single biggest threat in this movement, if they keep poking at this dragon they might really learn about the Marine Corps, as it seems police are vastly underestimating the significance of the brother and sister bond shared by all Marines from all eras and walks of life. There is one point here that really scares the federal government, that is the notion of military separating from federal command. It has happened throughout history; it has happened in many countries in recent time. If Marines continue to have their rights violated, continue to receive police beatings, etc., things could become very interesting. Marines are a family first and foremost. In the video below, we hear another Marine Corps Veteran named Michael Lasley, describe a harrowing arrest that he believes involved police and at least one Marine. He was taken away in a car and had his life threatened, and his family's lives threatened. Lasley begins by explaining how several people had spotted Department of Homeland Security agents at Occupy Los Angeles. "I started letting people know who they were, I started looking at... basically trying to figure out who they were, profiling them, probing them, I walked up to a gentleman who had asked him some questions because a few days ago he came up to me and asked me questions. He said he was a Marine but it ended up obvious that he was part of Homeland Security." He goes on to describe a man he had followed that he refers to as the 'Lumberjack'. He had followed the man at one point to the federal building. He talks about a man who was just playing the guitar, who turned out to be unidentified law enforcement personnel. Initially he was told he was being arrested for, ' ...walking across the street on a red light' He said he had not done any such thing; always following crosswalk laws. After being placed in a cruiser, he was told he would only be cited. Then came an interview, they wanted to know what Jason had done in the military, then told him they knew everything. They told him he would, "Never see the light of day again". "One of the officers was a Marine, he told me I could go free if I did not return." He says they showed him a photo of a child they said was his, who he was unaware of. At this point Hurley says he became very scared... he wanted to see if his family was OK. They were, so he has now concluded that the threat was a fear tactic, a 'guerrilla arrest' as he called it. He is returning, we are paying attention. Here is what Occupy LA wrote:
I appreciate the help of Karin Rougeau in pulling the elements together for this important story, all events of this nature, particularly regarding Veterans, should be sent to our newsroom, feel free to use the address below in by bio; we are keeping up with several Occupy camps and wish to broaden the list, thanks and Semper fidelis.

This guy is either crazy, a liar, or a crazy liar.
Tim King: Which Marine's honor are you calling out? Can I just call you Judy?

I highly doubt the account by Mike Lasley. There is no proof of his detention and his story makes no sense at all for a guy supposedly concerned about his family. Why didn't he call them AS SOON AS he was released?! Why did he wait until he got on a bus and relayed "his account" to OWS personnel? Putting on a camouflage top and sitting in front of a webcam does not make a Marine.

DHS psych-op for sure. These criminals are not gonna go down alive. They have EVERYTHING to lose, including all the ill-gotten gains from the last decade. We will see more vets and military personnel joining the movement as the cops and fed continue their foolish crackdown on the same.
