The Most Annoying Little Fruit on YouTube

A fresh slice of humor...

The Annoying Orange in 'Kitchen Intruder'

(SALEM, Ore.) - Every now and then we receive an unsolicited story contribution that begins with something like... "Here's something to break up the dark cloud that accompanies most Salem-News.com reports" and I have to smile, because I understand. The world is a very troubled place and our team has experienced a lot of it. We aren't worried about what is going right, we are worried about the myriad things going wrong.

But, we all have our reprieve and they come in all shapes and sizes. One of my typical favorites is a real fruit and an incredible hit on YouTube: "The Annoying Orange".

HEY! Did you hear about The Leprechaun? He stared at his belly button so much, he was promoted to navel officer. HAHAHAHA!!!

I know there are a lot of people involved in the creation of this crackup character with yellow teeth, and if someone had described it for me I probably never would have searched it out, but my nieces love the crazy stuff on YouTube like "Gummy Bear" and somewhere between searching for that video and "funniest cats", this silly orange popped up; I was skeptical but all of us were laughing quickly and watching one brief episode after another.

I suspect it is the utter ridiculousness of it that appeals to me. I am so tired of the raucous humor of Family Guy and the spin off shows. I'll admit they're funny, but the really super over the top sexual innuendos are little more than a trap for American families.

I won't go on too much about it, but it strikes me time and time again that there is little forethought toward the long term consequences of some of these prime time adult themed cartoon shows viewed literally, by millions and millions of kids who haven't even hit puberty.

HEY! Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husbands cause knife is slicing everybody out there! HAHAHA!

Sex is a subject that families are already stigmatized over and large portions of the American population are programmed in all the wrong ways. Now we have to explain things that we would never have anticipated due to the perverted nature of these programs, thanks Family Guy creators.

The Annoying Orange is hilarious and I am curious to know what other people think. It does have an occasional violent scene, but we're talking about fruit being sliced! Apples, pears, kiwi and bananas are not safe on this show, but that is as far as it goes.

It almost seems like one of the only times that violence is truly allowed to be funny.

And then I watch the episode included with this video and thought there was more to it than the average "Annoying Orange" episode. You have to watch this video first, and then the one below it. Trust me, you will get the same experience that I did and I found it all very memorable.
