(CLEVELAND) - Sometimes you have to wonder where the idea of Christianity and modern divisive politics met, where was the scene of that crash? Research shows that until the 1980's, the people who tout their relationships with God while plundering the earth's resources and starting needless wars, didn't even mention religion. What we now know as 'the religious right' finally figured out how religion can be a drug, particularly the religious dogmatic scenario. Any time religion teaches hate and fear, and it doesn't matter which of the monotheistic faiths you are talking about, you are dealing with real harnessed negativity. If it walks like a duck, clucks like a duck... you get the picture? God didn't send his son to earth or create any of this in the first place. He certainly didn't mean to inspire people to destroy entire civilizations through acts of greed and self righteousness. Jesus Christ who walked the face of the earth two thousand years ago, believed in loving his enemies, and turning the other cheek when slapped. Far too many self professed Christians can't even start to identify with this concept, so we remain locked in place. But they sure love those Jesus birthplace TV shows- makes them feel downright connected. And how does that change anything? When it is fame and fortune that a research seeks, they take their 'find' to the press and watch the people go nuts. Any researcher can claim relevance if they have the right connections, but what does it matter? How is anyone going to do more than simply learn the material that already exists? It seems like there are far more advanced components to this story. We live in an age of revisionist history. Israel has been making it increasingly difficult for Christians to access the holy places that are the setting for the Bible. Let's concentrate on what matters, that is the sad state of the human race today. - forward by Tim King ________________________________The Lost Tomb Of Jesus
I watched a program on television last night, Modern technology it is said, Scientists also lay claim to know what Jesus would eat, Ok, why not where life itself originated or how it began? Why are there children who starve to death? Too much money is spent on fancy wear, What about soldiers that fight in Iraq? Standing before God what excuses will they tell? Then they’ll be the ones, who will get the scare, At the same time there will be another birth, Not just that of our famed Lord and Savior, Ancient writing found on the outside of the tombs, Personally, I think they are missing an opportunity, As for the writing on the tomb, let’s get serious please, By Luke Easter Dec-25-2009: The Day Combat Ops Cleared the Birthplace of Jesus - Story by Tim King Photos by Dexter Phoenix Salem-News.com _____________________________________________Luke Easter is a poet who writes about things that are very close to the heart of Salem-News.com. Another former U.S. Marine, Luke heals the world with an approach that reaches people on a different level, one known for centuries, yet too often forgotten in the one we live in.We live in a world of social & economic injustice. The main reason for founding America in the first place was to relieve the oppression of the King of England. Patrick Henry said it best, “give me liberty or give me death.” And yet, all too often death seems to be the only way out. Why is there such a high suicide rate especially among teens, in the land of the free & the home of the brave? What makes headlines? Good news? Ha! More depressing stories than anything else. I feel poetry takes an edge off the hurt of bad news while still delivering it but in a, “glitzy” sort of way. Giving a different perspective. Kind of like slap in the face as opposed to a knife in the back. At least with the slap you’ll live to see another day and you will know whom it’s from. I wasn’t here for the beginning of the world but at 59, I just might be here for the end. Even though it’s still a knife, rhyme poetry helps to dull the blade. And that’s my job.
