(SALEM, Ore.) - Detectives from Salem Police found more than they were bargaining for when investigating a drug complaint Wednesday. They say they found a woman's body at 1687 Savage Rd NE while responding over a complaint of "a filthy residence," said Greg Hastings, OSP Spokesman.

Hastings says that at 3:30 PM Wednesday, a report over possible drug activity and the dirty residence led detectives to the residence, where they were allowed inside by Allen Terwilleger, who had been staying with the resident, Fawn Coker and her two small children.

"Coker was not at the residence at the time, but was reported to be at the Oregon State Fair with her one year old child."

He says the Detectives were allowed to check the residence for other people and located a deceased subject on the floor of the children's bedroom. Coker's second small child, a 2-year old, was with relatives at another location when the home was searched.

As the investigation continued, Hastings says detectives contacted the Oregon State Police at the State Fair.

"Officers were able to locate Coker and her child. Coker appeared to be under the influence of several controlled substances and was taken to the hospital for medical attention. The one year old child was also taken to the hospital due to a severe rash and signs of neglect, where the child received medical attention and then released to authorities."

Hastings says Coker remained in the hospital overnight and was released on Thursday, at which time she was booked into the Marion County Jail.

"Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence. Found during the search was heroin and methamphetamine residue, perscription drugs and other drug paraphernalia. Additionally, heorin and user paraphernalia was found in Terwilleger's backpack."

During the investigation, the deceased was tentaively identified as 51-year Sheree Pat Smith who had no known permanent address.

"Preliminary indications are that SMITH died of a drug overdose," Hastings added.

Coker's two small children were taken into protective custody. Both Coker and Terwilleger were charged and booked into the Marion County Jail.

30-year old Fawn Elizabeth Coker of Salem was charged with Unlawful Possession of Heroin & Methamphetamine, 2 counts of Endangering the welfare of a minor, 2 counts of Criminal Mistreatment and Maintaining a residence where drugs are used.

48-year old Allen Russell Terwilleger of Salem was charged with Unlawful possession of Heroin and a Parole Violation Detainer.

I dated Fawn in highschool. In fact she was my first love. She has always been a troubled girl. Hope she gets it together for the children sake.
