(DUBLIN) - From May 2010, an exchange between Michael D Higgins (who was elected President of Ireland last year) and Tea Party-loving radio guy Michael Graham on Irish radio station Newstalk 106-108fm.

Higgins unloads on Graham, a conservative American radio host, during a debate between the two on the Irish radio program Newstalk.

We're bringing you now because it is a blast to hear a person of this level of achievement describe his take on Americans and the 'tea party' movement which seeks to block poor Americans from basic healthcare access, while working as a wall of opposition to the current U.S. President.

Yes, racism has been a theme time and time again during these protests, but that does not mean all people taking part are racist, however the tea party is almost completely comprised of angry white people.

Higgins is an articulate and passionate debater. He calls his American opponent a wanker.

Below is an edited version of the exchange - you can hear it all here: http://media.newstalk.ie/extra/1602/popup
