(GAZA, Occupied Palestine Ma’an) - One-hundred US dollars and food aid will be distributed to 78,000 Gazan families on the occasion of Ramadan, the de facto government in Gaza announced Thursday.

Minister of Labor of the de facto government Ahmad Al Kurd said the donations would be handed out to those registered in the revamped government databases that record the unemployed and poor families of the Strip.

The names of the families will be published on the de facto Ministry of Labor’s website.

Those who are not registered must contact the ministry as soon as possible. Distributions to the first 12,000 families will be completed Sunday.

Gaza was the scene of an attack by Israeli bombs and warplanes that began last December and lasted through January.

The Israeli and Egyptian governments have made access to Gaza very difficult in recent time. Crossings into Gaza are all locked down for Ramadan.
