(CORVALLIS) - Corvallis police are asking for the public’s help in locating a 20-year-old Corvallis resident accused of sexual abusing a 12-year-old girl.

Corvallis police began a sexual assault investigation after encountering Vicente Romero Leon in the company of the 12-year-old female, under suspicious circumstances.

On August 13th, Leon was arrested and charged with Rape in the Second Degree, a Class B Felony, as a result of the investigation.

He was transported to the Benton County Correctional Facility and lodged on the above listed charge without incident.

Leon posted bail in the amount of $5,000, and was released from the BCCF.

On Thursday, he failed to appear for his investigation hearing.

Leon's last employer was Stahlbusch Island Farms.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Vicente Romero Leon, or his illegal sexual activities involving children, should contact Detective Mark Posler at (541)-766-6975.
