(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Police have released the name of a young woman who died in a single car crash Sunday; 25-year old Emily Stieglitz was a resident of Oregon City. A witness contacted the Clackamas County Dispatch Center Sunday morning at 9:04 AM to report that a vehicle traveling north on South Eaden Road, had just left the roadway and struck a tree. Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink says deputies responded to discover a single vehicle, fatal crash that occurred at the address of 15751 South Eaden Road, in Oregon City. The location is just south of the intersection of South Eaden Road and Bakersferry Road. An ambulance responded to the scene to assist. But it is reported that the person died within 10 minutes of the medical personnel's arrival on the scene, and life flight was canceled. This crash involves a gray 2005 Honda Civic. Ms Steiglitz had been wearing a seat belt at the time of this crash. Strovink says alcohol is not considered a factor, and the victim was reportedly commuting to her place of employment. "This vehicle is stated to have been traveling northbound on Eaden Road while traveling at a high rate of speed, failing to negotiate a curve in the road way properly – over corrected, and left the road way impacting a tree on the driver's side of the vehicle. After crashing into the tree, the vehicle came back onto the roadway, coming to rest facing south -- in the north bound lane of travel. Speed is a factor considered in this crash investigation."
