(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police Detectives have arrested a volunteer at Sprague High School for several sexual abuse-related charges involving a minor female known to him. Salem Police say 46-year old Roland James Brumbaugh Jr was arrested on April 27th by police detectives and lodged in the Marion County Jail on charges of first-degree Rape, first-degree Sodomy, second-degree Unlawful Sexual Penetration and first-degree Sexual Abuse. The victim is not a student at Sprague High School according to Lt Dave Okada with Salem Police. The investigation began with a report from Sprague High School personnel to the school resource officer regarding possible sexual abuse of a student. A spokesman says Salem Police detectives became involved and conducted an investigation leading to the arrest of Brumbaugh later that afternoon. Okada said, "Subsequent investigation revealed that Brumbaugh has been a volunteer at Sprague High School since January of 2010 and has had access to the school and to students. The incidents for which he has been arrested occurred with a minor female known to Brumbaugh and occurred off campus outside of school hours." Because of Brumbaugh's access to the school and students, Salem Police are asking for anybody who has had inappropriate sexual contact or concerns of a sexual nature regarding Brumbaugh to contact Salem Police Detective Michael Bennett at 503-588-5060. As in all cases of this nature, it is important to note that this individual is a suspect and charged with crimes, but not convicted. We report the facts as they are relayed to us by the police, nothing more. We are not suggesting that this individual or any other is guilty unless or until they are convicted. We add this note because charges of this nature are extremely devastating for families and all suspects are not convicted or guilty. These freaks need to be taken out and shot once they have had a fair trial and found guily by their peers.
