(MADRID) - Assistants of the International Conference on AIDS, held in Mexico City, have proposed strategies to defend abstinence and fidelity.

The Conference had an audience of more than 25,000 scholars, governors, journalists, and sufferers that co-habit with the mortal plague. The actual state of the lethal disease was examined. New scholarly and treated researches that challenge the deadly virus were exhibited.

On the other hand, the Report on the global AIDS epidemic has been exhibited in Geneva after 3 decades of the ongoing pandemic. The pandemic is responsible for more than 8,000 new transmissions a day.

That is what the data, which more than 150 Countries send each year to the United Nations’ plan on how to combat the social combat scourge of HIV, demonstrates. According to estimates, due to the deadly virus, the infected population will increase to more than 4 million by the year 2015.

The findings from the above study show that throughout this last year there were around 35 million people with AIDS around the world, of which 16 million were women. The infections still continue to grow in other places, such as Eastern Europe, where around 2 million infections were calculated.

Similarly, in nations like Germany and the United Kingdom, an increase of people living with the deadly virus has been registered. The countries with the highest infection indexes are Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Vietnam, Australia, and New Guinea. Next on the list are Brazil (800,000), Mexico (250,000), Colombia (200,000), Argentina (70,000), and Guatemala (65,000). The main method of transmission is homosexuality, asserts the study.

The steps towards AIDS prevention, according to the global Summit of the Global Health Council, must respect: “human and spiritual values”, and must protect: “Human Rights and the dignity of human beings”.

The President of Uganda called for the Ugandan population to modify their sexual conduct. 93% of the Ugandan population has indeed modified their carnal practice in order to combat AIDS. According to “Uganda´s Demographic and Health Survey”, the ABC centers itself on A) abstinence, B) fidelity, and C) character. (Translated by Gianna A. Sanchez Moretti)
