Warmongering on Iran Leads to Touring Bush Float

(PHILADELPHIA, Penn.) - The TrueMajority.org "IranMobile", a Dr. Strangelove-like thermonuclear missile that rises 20 feet into the air for launch, is on a tour to raise awareness over the desires of U.S. Republican "chickenhawks" to attack Iran.

The group points to President Bush, Vice President Cheney and their most extreme pro-war allies who have been saber-rattling about Iran for over a year.

Most memorably, US Senator John McCain sang "Bomb, bomb, bomb – bomb, bomb Iran" to the tune of a Beach Boys hit at an event last April. TrueMajority is sending President Bush and other national leaders a clear message that in today’s economy America cannot afford another war.

NotAnotherWar Gates: Iran War Would be "Disastrous"‏

Meanwhile, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said in a speech Monday night that an Iran war was the "last thing we need" and "would be disastrous" – though not before doing a little saber-rattling of his own.

The IranMobile is part of the NotAnotherWar.org national campaign to build pre-emptive opposition to war with Iran. In case you haven't noticed, Republican chickenhawks are calling for a war in Iraq as their current policies involve failing in Afghanistan by allowing too few troops, and striking Iraq which had done nothing to provoke the wrath of the U.S.

Over the past year, FOX News and other groups are intentionally offering false translations of speeches from the Iranian President in an effort to cause Americans to get behind the war effort.

When Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says "we don't want to have problems with the United States" Fox News translates it to the American public by stating that he claims to cause us destruction.

The boldest aspect of the Fox coverage is that anyone can learn what the man actually says if they take the time to use an Iranian translator.

On primary election day Pennsylvanians will be considering many issues and TrueMajority’s Iran Mobile is coming to town to rally opposition to war with Iran and warn leaders that Americans do not want another war.

"Another war in the Middle East is the last thing we need and, in fact, I believe it would be disastrous on a number of levels," Defense Secretary Robert Gates said in a speech he was delivering Monday evening at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

Aaron Rubin of TrueMajority says finding receptive audiences has been no problem on the nationwide tour, telling the Associated Press: "The reception has been astonishingly positive, overwhelming frankly, even among military guys and veterans. People that have been to Iraq and Afghanistan know how thinly stretched they are and how tough war is."

"President Bush and his fellow cheerleaders for endless war are struggling to justify their policy of keeping 140,000 troops in Iraq for the indefinite future, despite widespread public demand for an end to the war."

The IranMobile made appearances in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, McKeesport, Erie, Meadville and Scranton during the weeklong tour of Pennsylvania.
