Son: Right On ! We went to lease-only with every contact folo'd by written note. Location made us vulnerable so worked closely with SP et al on every difficulty...and we got along fine, increasing both occupancy and income. Can be done despite usual bad crowd seeking to find spot for variety of mess-ups, but hellish hard and demanding. Which is why this kind of group learning by responsible leadership is so essential and demanding.

Tenants have rights. Please do not co-mingle people without money with drug dealers. The two are separate. Always use a lawyer to get a Sherrifs eviction otherwise you will turn out to be the bad guy. You also must be careful about how you handle personal property left behind by tenants. Proper legal notice must be given. It is very complicated. You can not just break into someones place just because they are behind in rent. You have to prove abandonment etc. Alot of knowledge needs to be aquired. And remember, you are dealing with all kinds of people as different as all people are. If you have an anger problem, do not become a landlord.

I remember you. Not much experience so I had to let you go.

From 5 yrs as manager of apt. complex in Salem --with direct experience on this problem-- I can appreciate this wise action by Salem Police, and commend them on its impacts.
