(SALEM) - The City of Salem Public Works Department wants you to Be Aware! of some construction projects that are getting underway on Monday that could affect your commute through town. Please make a note of these projects, and if your commute takes you through one of these workzones, allow extra time to get to your destination, or use an alternate route. Winter St SE Between Oak St SE and Mission St SE. 4/16 - 5/1 - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Lane closure with flaggers for water line realignment work for installation of new sky bridge. Holiday Dr S Salem Heights Ave S to South Dead End. 4/16 - 5/4 - 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Street closure for water line installation. Salem Heights Ave S Between Holiday Dr S and Crestview Dr S. 4/16 - 5/4 - 8:30 AM 4:30 PM. Lane closure with flaggers for water line installation. Sidewalk - Church St SE Between State St and Ferry St SE. 4/16 - 5/12 - 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM. Sidewalk closure for sidewalk replacement will be in two phases. The first phase will be the southwest corner of State St and Church St SE including crosswalks to the driveway south on Church St SE. The second phase will be the northwest corner of Church St SE and Ferry St SE including crosswalks to the driveway north on Church St SE. Ongoing Projects: Market St NE Between 17th St NE and Capitol St NE. Now thru 6/11 - 24-hrs. Market St NE is CLOSED to through traffic between Capitol St NE and 17th St NE for sewer and waterline construction. Local access will be maintained for residents and emergency services at all times. Detour routes are in place. Westbound traffic will use 17th St NE, Sunnyview Rd NE, Fairgrounds Rd NE, and Summer St NE. Eastbound traffic will use Summer St NE, D Street NE, and 17th St NE. Brush College Rd NW From Doaks Ferry Rd NW to 1/2 Mile West. Now thru 7/1 - 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. The intersection of Brush College Rd NW and Doaks Ferry Rd NW will be reduced to one lane of traffic with flaggers 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This is a deep sewer line installation project and will proceed west on Brush College Rd NW. Once out of the intersection of Doaks Ferry Rd NW and Brush College Rd NW the work hours will be 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and delays of up to 15 minutes can be expected at times.
