Complete Tektronix DisplayPort Test Solution Certified by VESASalem-News.com Business ReportTektronix First to Receive Certification for DisplayPort.
(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - Tektronix, Inc. a leading, worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, announced Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) certification for Tektronix test solution for the DisplayPort 1.1 standard covering source, cable, and sink testing. The solution represents a complete test bench for engineers wanting to optimize and validate the performance of their DisplayPort designs. Tektronix initially received VESA physical layer sink certification last December -- the first vendor receiving certification for DisplayPort 1.1 -- and subsequently received source and cable certification. "Tektronix was the first vendor to create a DisplayPort physical layer sink test solution and to receive compliance certification from VESA," said Bill Lempesis, executive director, VESA. "Tektronix is recognized around the world for its leadership in test solutions including DisplayPort. These tools enable companies to efficiently test their designs, helping to expedite compliance with DisplayPort through the CTS defined within the standard. The efforts of Tektronix increase the overall set of tools that companies have available to assist in DisplayPort development and industry adoption." The DisplayPort test solution from Tektronix consists of a DSA70804 8 GHz real time oscilloscope with new DPOJET Advanced software. Additional components include: an AWG7102 arbitrary waveform generator; a DSA8200 sampling oscilloscope with IConnect software and 80E03 and 80E04 modules; P7380SMA probes and; DisplayPort fixtures from Efficere Technologies. More information about the Tektronix DisplayPort solution including the MOIs can be found at: tek.com/displayport. "Establishing standards compliance for the newest generation of high speed serial technologies requires robust instrumentation and detailed test procedures for transmitters, interconnects, and receivers," said Lynne Camp, vice president, Performance Plus Instruments, Tektronix. "The Tektronix DisplayPort test solution provides engineers with a complete, industry leading solution for DisplayPort compliance tests." All elements of the test set are available for order and delivery. About DisplayPort The DisplayPort digital display specification 1.1 was published by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) and has been endorsed by major PC manufacturers such as Dell, Hewlett-Packard Company, and others. It promises a scalable, license-free technology that will simplify PC monitors.
