Teens Arrested Over Beating Posted on MySpace, YouTube (VIDEO)

The attackers told police they were upset with some "trash talk" the victim posted on her MySpace page.

(LAKELAND, Fla. ) - Six teenagers from Polk County, Florida are accused of beating a 16-year-old girl, recording the attack and posting it on the popular social networking sites MySpace and YouTube.

Two males -- one adult and one minor -- were also been charged for allegedly acting as lookouts during the beating.

Victoria Lindsay was attacked on March 30 by six teenage girls when she arrived at a friend's home where she was staying during spring break., the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

At one point in the video, Lindsay's head was slammed into the bedroom wall and was knocked unconscious. She was later seen pleading to be let out of the house as the suspects blocked the door.

"That is animalistic behavior. It's pack mentality. They lured her there to beat her," Sheriff Grady Judd said.

“They lured her into the home for express purpose of filming the attack and posting it on the Internet. This is outrageous behavior.”

Last week, all eight were charged with battery and false imprisonment, which are all third-degree Felonies. The attackers told police they were upset with some "trash talk" the victim posted on her MySpace page.

Deputies are still searching for more evidence, saying more than one person recorded the fight.

I am sorry that happened to you tori but i hope you feel better. my cousin niko last year got brutally beaten in sisseton and he died once in the ambulance they revived him, and he was in a coma for a long time. I think that anyone that wants to brutally beat someone almost to death should spend their days behind bars because its BS what i saw. My prayers go out to you and your family Victoria.

The parents are not to blame...at least not completely. All these kids are old enough to know better. It's unlikely, although possible that one or some of them have experienced violence at home, but it is MORE LIKELY, that these kids are discipline problems, don't listen to their parents, aren't held accountable or responsible for thier actions...and i wonder how many are on meds...No excuses. I would say the same if it were my child who doled out the beating...to jail...just where you deserve to be for such a violent cruel out of control act...No matter where you come from, no matter what you've been through, if you have a heart, you wouldn't be capable of doing such a dreadful thing to another human being.

This is amazingly horrible. I cannot believe that these girls and boys did this. I mean to fight 6 on 1, thats just not right, and especially to beat the s*^+ out of her. i knew 2 of the girls personnally and i think they are retarted for what they did to tory.tory is a beautiful young girl who is talented in her cheerleading. and they should be charged as adults its only right. if they can make an adult decision then they can be treated like an adult. the two girls i know are mercedes nicholes. we were in band together and she played flute. she is nothing but a trouble making beatch. and the other one is brittani hardcastle. we were good friends as well we had a couple classes together we sat at lunch together. and i honestly wouldnt have thought in a day that she would do this. i could care less about these girls who did this.

well i think that these girls that did this need to each have their ass handed to them and my friends and i watched this video and wish that we could find these girls and let them know what it feels like to be beatin..and if the parents of any of the six girls that were in this read this ..you should beat the living st out of your child for even thinking about doing this. These girls are old enough to be held accountable for what they did ..i think each one of these girls that beat her for no reason other than "talking s%^t".. should get the max. jail time and should have to sit and think about what they did for a long time! and if there is no jail time then the parents should ground them from living the house and everything in the house for a very very long time!!!! this is not right and something needs to be done and show these girls that this is not going to be tolerated. the parents of these girls should be in some parenting classes and let them know that they should hide their faces in shame to what they allow in their homes. 1. She probably deserved it. 2. Having said that, it is illegal to assault someone and prevent them from leaving. I have not been able to get this video off my mind. Every time i see or think about it I cry. My heart and prayers go to the Lindsay's. I have a 17 year old son and i cannot imagne seeing my child beat like that for no reason. These girls and 2 guys should be tried as an adult and let them see how they like prison. I think that the parents are really to blame for this incident. Children aren't just born with violent insticts. Behaviors are learned. Sometimes children whose parents seem to be very nice act this way because their parents condone their bad behavior instead of making them suffer the consequences of their actions. I have three children and my husband and I sacrifice a lot so that I can be a stay at home Mom. I am in my children's back pockets 24/7. While I know that it is not possible for everyone to do this anyone who can should. It's time for parents to take on the responsibility of their children. Know where they are, who they're with, and what they are doing at all times and when they make a mistake don't make excuses for them. Punish them and don't forget to reward them when they do good. Let them know that you will always be there for them no matter what they do and tell them that you love them and how special they are every single day. I think that in the busy world we live in a lot of people don't invest the time in their children that they should. That is a very sad thing because when you invest that little bit of time and effort you get so much more in return. I hope these kids get at least some jail time. Someone needs to make them be held accountable for their actions. They are old enough to know that what they did was wrong.
