(JEFFERSON, Ore. ) - Just before 3:30 AM this morning, Marion County Sheriff's Deputies were called to 470 High St in Jefferson on a report of a robbery where shots were fired. The Homeowner, Michael Vogler, 59, told the Deputies that he had confronted a male in his house with a gun. At some point the male suspect, later identified as a 16-year-old Jefferson resident, assaulted Mr. Vogler and tried to get the gun away from him. During that struggle one shot was fired. The juvenile ran into the garage of the home, dove head-first through a window and ran from the area on foot. Mr. Vogler had minor injuries to his head and neck as a result of the assault. Mr. Vogler lives at the home with his wife Trudy who was home at the time but was not involved. At about 6:00 AM this morning, Albany Hospital staff contacted the Sheriff's Office to report that the juvenile had come to the emergency room with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen and a laceration on his elbow. None of the wounds were life threatening. The Juvenile was treated and released to his parents to recover from his injuries. The investigation is continuing and criminal charges for the juvenile will be forthcoming. The full extent of those charges have yet to be determined. Don't hate me April 8, 2007 8:40 pm (Pacific time)
I know he has to understand the difference between right and wrong.. and I would have shot him myself.. however ( I know) The difference between me now and when I was 16 is big.... forgiveness is the best policy and rehab is the best solution. ( If I catch you in my house, you will most likely be .. mmmmm nevermind.) This kid should be thanking the homeowner for not shooting him in the head. Good luck to all!

It's unfortunate the single gunshot wound wasn't between his eyes.

The kid allegedly commits breaking and entering, then assault and battery, and is released to his parents. Why?
