(PORTLAND, Ore.) - A Portland man was arrested Tuesday morning for charges relating to a double homicide which occurred in Lake Oswego in 1980.

50-year old Ryan Lawrence Anthony of 4502 S.E. Francis Street, Portland, Oregon was arrested for 2 counts of Murder. In the past, police say the man has also used the names of Larry Lee Anthony and Ryan O'Shawnessey.

Investigators say the victims in this case, husband and wife Ottilia and Casper Volk, were found deceased in their residence on the morning of July 28th, 1980. At the time of their murders, Ottilia was 78 years old and her husband Casper was 84 years old.

The suspect in this case was at one time married to a granddaughter of the two victims.

An Oregon State Police Crime Lab report received Monday linked Anthony to the crime scene based on DNA evidence.

He remains lodged in the Clackamas County Jail.

The case will be submitted to the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office for presentation to the Grand Jury.

Police say the investigation in this case is continuing.

Ruth it's obvious someone is telling you a fairy tail. there will be no chance of parole for 40 years, I believe he will be 90 then.I wounder if he ever hears the screems as the knife he wielded smashed in and out of human bodies. Maybe he can smell the blood he tried to wipe up . Sorry there is no way he will be paroled in fifteen years and his appeals have all been denied.

its quite obvious none of you supporters knew him when he did this. he is a scum bag and does not deserve the three hots and a cot he is getting.

When i knew him his name was Larry. This happens a lot when people try to escape themselves. He had to make you people think he was a great guy. It must have been hard to live a lie for 27 years.

I am joining this chat a few years late but I am just seeing it for the first time. Laurie, yes my father Ryan Anthony did live in Hillsboro from before I was born in 1991 until the summer of 2000. A non fan, you are so stupid. You really know nothing about his case. Not too long after my fathers conviction he was granted parole in 15 years for good behavior, and that was in 2006 HONEY! I am sure Maggie is your little family member that you know in the family. Oh and by the way, my father has submitted his appeal and so far its looking VERY GOOD!

I don't think larry could have done what they say he did, He obviously should not have been there. Its real crying shame that an old friend could end up this way.

A non September 19, 2007 4:33 pm (Pacific time)

DNA does not lie HONEY!! so get over it!! HE IS A KILLER!! AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!! AMEN AMERICA!!

Fair Justice September 7, 2007 4:17 pm (Pacific time)

Unfair Justice is more like it. It's just so convinet that the trail went on after all of his witnesses are dead. And the fact that Maggie,Dian, and Travis LIED on the stand!!! That I know for a fact!!! For the last 27 years they have done nothing but sayd it was him, never once did they ever say, well maybe it was someone else. Good job looking for other suspects, which they shoudl have done! Maggie hates him she always has even before this happened in 1980. To me this looks more like revenge then fair justice!

A non Fan September 6, 2007 5:25 pm (Pacific time)

What is not fair is the Volk family losing loved ones because of this MURDERER!! THAT IS WHAT IS NOT FAIR! I am so happy today that the VOLK family got JUSTICE and closer!

A non Fan September 6, 2007 5:21 pm (Pacific time)

Convicted !!! He gets life possible parole in 40 years that will make him 90!! JUSTICE IS FINALLY SERVED!! WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY NOW??

Anonymous May 2, 2007 11:43 am (Pacific time)

Mr. Anthony has always been a friend of mine and I just can't believe he could do something so sick, he just was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Fair Justice April 18, 2007 3:06 pm (Pacific time)

You may know one of the family members, I am a family member and if your getting your information from one side then I don't think you know all the details. Your opinion is one sided and not fair.

A non Fan March 26, 2007 6:51 pm (Pacific time)

I know more about his case than any of you probably do! I am friend of one of the family members that is left behind with out their loved ones because he is a killer!!

iv'e known larry my whole life February 12, 2007 9:38 am (Pacific time)

mr anthony could not and would not have commited such a henious crime he is innocent

Fair Justice February 7, 2007 4:21 pm (Pacific time)

What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I am sure none of you even no the details of the case. But since he was charged you assume he is guilty. People like you make me sick.

anonymous July 31, 2006 7:13 pm (Pacific time)

I worked with Ryan up until he went to jail recently. He was a person I a lot of his co-workers looked up to, he had that type of position (Network Admn.) I am both sad and sick to hear this news.

Laurie July 11, 2006 7:09 am (Pacific time)

I'm just wondering if Mr. Anthony lived in Hillsboro at one time in the late 1990's?
