(SALEM) - From Saturday to Monday night, Salem police responded to twelve reports of stolen vehicles throughout the Salem-area.

Lt. Dan Deitz says so far police have recovered two of the stolen vehicles, and made two arrests, and there were no reports of stolen vehicles overnight.

He said of the stolen vehicles, three were Honda’s, and three were pickups, none were the result of people warming their vehicles up. One did however have the keys inside.

Deitz urges anyone who sees a vehicle just sitting in their neighborhood unattended, or sees someone leave a vehicle and walk away to write the license plate down and call police at (503) 588-6123.

My daughters car was stolen this morning, along with her birthday presents that were inside. She is devestated. Her car was locked. She has worked for the last year to buy a car, and she has only had it a month. She only had liability insurance. I have no idea how someone could do something like this to another person.
