Pacific City Man Arrested for Murder in Missing Albany Fisherman Case

John Curtis Adkins has been missing since last July.

(PACIFIC CITY, Ore.) - A Pacific City man is under arrest on Murder charges. Police say the arrest is connected to the disappearance of an Albany man missing since last July, who was the owner of a 47' fishing vessel.

The suspect was arrested in Oregon and is pending extradition to Washington State for arraignment related to the murder of 53-year old John Curtiss Adkins.

Two Albany Brothers Arrested for Assaulting Salem Man

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Police say a Salem man was assaulted Monday evening at about 8:00 p.m. 47-year old Charles Peters told police he was assaulted by two men near the intersection of Pine and Commercial Street NE, according to Salem Police Lt. Steve Birr.

"Peters was struck multiple times with an unidentified blunt instrument. Peters was transported to Salem Hospital where he still remains," Birr said.

Albany Woman Charged in Attempted Baby Theft

Detectives believe the suspect has displayed similar behavior at other hospitals, they want to hear from anyone who may have additional information.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Albany Police detectives arrested a 25-year old woman around 10:00 a.m. this morning for attempting to kidnap an infant from Samaritan Albany General Hospital on September 19, 2009.

Albany Police Captain Eric Carter, says Trinity Hanley Louise Vidal-Hernandez of Albany was arrested for second-degree Attempted Kidnapping, Initiating a False Report, second-degree Disorderly Conduct and second-degree Criminal Mischief.

Cascade Foods Sued For Firing Woman with Restraining Order Against Co-Worker

Female Worker Fired After Reporting Sexual Harassment by Co-Worker, Federal Agency Charges.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - The EEOC lawsuit says a female employee was fired for placing a restraining order against her co-worker who physically and verbally threatened her safety.

It is reported that she obtained the order because the man hit her, and that Cascade asked her to have the restraining order changed so that her abuser could continue to work for the company.

45 Neglected Cats Seized by Linn County Deputies (GRAPHIC PHOTOS)

The owner relinquished the 45 cats to the Linn County Sheriff's Office.

(ALBANY, Ore,) - 45 cats were found to be living in an Albany residence with three tenants over the weekend, at 38432 Century Drive in Albany.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says a large number of cats were in need of immediate medical attention due to urine scalding, ear and eye infections, malnourishment, dehydration, and disease.

A second person described as Anderson's girlfriend, was also arrested on a felony warrant out of Oregon.

(Albany, ore.) - Police report that a 26-year-old psychiatric patient wanted for felony escape from the Oregon State Hospital in Salem was arrested Sunday afternoon in Ogden, Utah. A second person identified as his girlfriend was also arrested.

Oregon State Police detectives confirmed David Anderson, who had escaped from a supervised hospital yard on Saturday afternoon, was apprehended about 3:00 p.m. Sunday by Ogden Police Department and taken into custody.

Albany Man Killed in Crash on Highway 20 Near Eddyville

Two others were seriously injured in the crash.

(NEWPORT, Ore.) - Police say an Albany-area man died and two others were seriously injured Wednesday morning in a two vehicle head-on crash on Highway 20 about two miles east of Eddyville.

OSP Sergeant Justin McGladrey says today at approximately 8:10 a.m. a 2006 Saab was eastbound on Highway 20 near milepost 26 when it attempted to pass another vehicle using the westbound lane, striking another vehicle head-on.

The driver of a car and a motorcycle rider were both killed.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Police say two people were killed Friday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 20 east of Albany. It happened at approximately 2:45 p.m.

State Police troopers say a 1999 Saturn 4-door, operated by 46-year old Michelle Irma Eldridge of Lebanon, was westbound on Highway 20 near milepost 9.

Highway 20 is now open at MP 9 between Albany and Lebanon after a vehicle crash.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Oregon State Police report that state troopers from the OSP Albany Command say two people died in a traffic collision on Highway 20 at Milepost 9 today. OSP Sgt. Dan Swift says this is a section of highway just east of Albany.

Troopers advise that Highway 20 is now open at MP 9 between Albany and Lebanon after a vehicle crash.

Man Dies From Crash that Split His Car in Half

OSP troopers investigating the crash report several driving complaints involving the Mazda were phoned into Linn County Sheriff's Office and they were attempting to find it when the crash happened.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Police say one person died and two other people were injured Thursday afternoon in a three vehicle collision on Highway 226 about four miles west of Scio.

Oregon State Police troopers from the Albany Area Command office are continuing the investigation into the crash in which speed and alcohol are possible contributing factors involving the victim driver.
