(CHENNAI TamilNet) - Hundreds of Sri Lankan women and rights activists protest in Colombo, Sri Lanka Prominent women’s rights activists in India said this week that they had stopped believing in Colombo's periodic pledges to bring about reconciliation in the country, reports Indian Express.

The activists faulted the Sri Lankan government for not acknowledging the range of rights violations committed by its armed forces.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland, Oregon Police Portland Police officers assigned to East Precinct responded to Mt Tabor Park on a threatening man armed with a gun threatening Tuesday, at about 5:06 p.m.

Officers say the suspect, 32-year old Hugh Brandon Neustel, spit on a park volunteer, then got a gun out of his car and threatened the volunteer.

(NEW YORK) - Roger Waters Over the new year 2009-2010, an international group of 1500 men and women from 42 nations went to Egypt to join a Freedom March to Gaza.

They did this to protest the current blockade of Gaza. To protest the fact that the people of Gaza live in a virtual prison. To protest the fact that a year after the terror attack by Israeli armed forces destroyed most of their homes, hospitals, schools, and other public buildings, they have no possibility to rebuild because their borders are closed.

3-Year Old Boy Dies After Being Tortured, Burned by Baby Sitters

As we lament the death of a small Jewish boy in Brooklyn, an African-American child tortured to death is remembered also.

(PHILADELPHIA ) - Jaquinn Brewton Your Black World reports that this week, police said that a 3-year old boy died after being tortured by the adults responsible for his care.

Jaquinn Brewton’s death was ruled a homicide when he was taken off life support. Police say that he was kicked, punched and had his hands, feet and rear end burned with a blowtorch.

Phylicia Barnes (In Memorial @ 16)

Help is needed for thousands of lifeless innocent teens...

(CLEVELAND) - Phylicia Barnes On the 20th of April, 2011, two bodies were recovered near the Conowingo Dam by Maryland State Police. The following day one of the remains were positively identified through dental records to be that of missing North Carolina teen Phylicia Barnes.

The Baltimore Police Department is now working jointly with the Maryland State Police to investigate the circumstances of her disappearance and subsequent death.
