Bill Will Protect Kids by Expanding List of Mandatory Reporters

HB 4016 adds to the list of persons who are required to report child abuse.

(SALEM) - Child victim The Oregon Senate approved legislation this morning that will help protect children from abuse by expanding the list of people who are required to report child abuse, commonly known as “mandatory reporters.”

House Bill 4016 will help protect children attending extracurricular activities hosted at universities and colleges, sports organizations, and other youth-based organizations.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Child Internet Safety Privacy has become a major issue in the United States and Congress is paying attention. H.R. 1895, "H.R. 1895: Do Not Track Kids Act of 2011"", a bi-partisan bill sponsored by U.S. Representatives Ed Markey (D. MA) and Joe Barton (D. TX), is pending in Congress.

H.R. 1895 would amend the "Children's Online Privacy Protection Act" (COPPA) by introducing additional provisions to govern the collection and use of teens' personal information.

Car Washes under Flooded Albany Intersection, at Least One Child Missing

Rescue crews will re initiate their mission to recover victims from the vehicle in the morning.

(ALBANY) - Rescue vehicle lights Fire officials in Albany had the sad task of searching for missing children after a vehicle was washed out of a grocery store parking lot, into a creek swollen by heavy rains, and under the intersection of SE Geary St & Queen Ave SE.

Wanda Omdahl with Albany Fire, says rescue crews responded to the scene and one adult and one child were pulled out of the water on the other side of the bridge.
