(SAN FRANCISCO) - Afghan women in historic Mazur-e-Sharif near the Blue Mosque.  Salem-News.com photos by Tim King On our Iran Air flight from Frankfurt to Tehran, each of the stewardesses wore a "hijab." When we entered Iran's airspace, an announcement over the intercom told the women to put on their hijab or a head scarf.

My wife, as did the other women on the flight, obliged by putting scarves on their heads. My wife wore a scarf covering her hair for our entire Iran visit.

Follow Up on Incident at Al-Walaja

The struggle and resistance continue every day.

(AL-WALAJA, Occupied Palestine) - Tiny Palestinian boy left behind after Israeli soldiers arrested his parents at a non-violent peace protest. My last post included a video showing the assault on peaceful demonstrations in Al-Walaja, I mentioned six Palestinians abducted.

There were also 15 Israelis abducted and many charged and most had to sign a paper to promise they would not come near the wall again for 60-180 days.

Terror Attack by Lebanese Army Thwarts Israeli Landscaping Effort

(BEIRUT) - Other Israeli landscaping techniques. Over the last few years, China, India, and the Middle East have invested heavily in African land, spurred on by the global food and economic crises—as well as the threats of climate change, population growth, and water scarcity.

By controlling agricultural land in Kenya, Ethiopia, and elsewhere on the continent, these nations hope to secure future food supplies for their populations, even as sub-Saharan Africa faces increasing hunger.
