Vancouver Police Locate Missing Woman

Vancouver Police Detectives located Shirley Looker in David Douglas Park, Vancouver WA around 5:30 PM.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - 67-year old Shirley Marie Looker is missing and her family and the police are both concerned. A missing 67-year old Vancouver woman missing since Saturday was located by police today.

According to family, Looker was last seen around 10:00 PM on Saturday, when she was driven to an area hospital for a serious medical condition by her daughter.

Keizer Firefighters Join Stairclimb Event for Fourth Year

Participants wear over 50 lbs of firefighting boots, pants, jackets, gloves, helmet and self-contained breathing equipment in racing up the 69 flights of stairs, or 1,311 steps, to reach the top of the building.

(KEIZER, Ore.) - Keizer Lieutenant Danny Fisher A team of six Firefighters from the Keizer Fire District will travel to Seattle, Washington on Sunday, March 2nd 2008 to participate in the 17th Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb, the largest individual firefighter competition in the world.

This is a fund raising event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and it is the fourth year that a team from the Keizer Fire District has participated in this event.

Evidence suggests that the Anasazi fled the region and joined related groups to the south and east.

(PULLMAN, Wash.) - While the cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde Using computer simulations to synthesize both new and earlier research, a team of scientists led by a Washington State University anthropology professor has given new perspective to the long-standing question of what happened more than 700 years ago to cause the ancestral Pueblo people known as the Anasazi.

Researchers have long wondered why they abruptly end their 700-year-long occupation of the now-famous cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde and other nearby communities in southwestern Colorado.

Oregon Average for Gas Rises Above National Price

The national average continues to decline, but here in Oregon pump prices are on the rise.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas station "Oregon's statewide average for regular unleaded is up this week, while the national average continues to decline." AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says, "

The Oregon average increases three-and-a-half cents to $2.98, while the national average drops nearly two cents to $2.96, and is at its lowest level in more than three months. Both the Oregon and national averages are less than $3 per gallon for the third week in a row."

Man Dies from Injuries Suffered While Falling From a Moving Vehicle in Clark County

Police say the man, 27-year old Victor A Vega-Espinoza of Vancouver, Washington, sustained severe trauma to his head and was transported to Emanuel Hospital, where he died.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Death investigation Investigators in Clark County say a man fell from a moving vehicle last night at the intersection of 63rd Street and 100th Avenue. They were called to the scene at 8:15 PM.

Witnesses told police the subject was riding in the backseat when he opened the door and subsequently fell out of the vehicle and onto the roadway. There was also a passenger in the front seat.

Through Thursday, the storm will pump heavy rain into coastal areas in the Pacific Northwest and several more feet of snow in the Cascades.

Up to 18 inches of snow will fall by tonight across the Washington and Oregon Cascades. Snow levels through tonight will drop to around 3,000 feet, well below the passes.

Oregon`s Average Drops Below National Average as Gas Prices Fall

It's unusual for Oregon's statewide average for regular unleaded is less than the national average.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas station attendant The national average and the Oregon statewide average both have fallen below the $3 per gallon mark for regular unleaded. AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says it's the first time in five weeks the national average has been below $3, and the first time since mid-October the Oregon average has been this low.

Portland’s average of $2.896 for a gallon of regular is the cheapest in the state, Salem follows with an average cost of $2.917 for regular. In Eugene/Springfield drivers are paying $2.933 at the pump and the average price in the Medford/Ashland area is $3.015. In Vancouver, Washington, motorists are paying $3.003 for self serve regular.

Dangerous California Storm Continues this Weekend (VIDEO)

Oregon weather turns to snow as Californians brace for unusual amounts of rainfall.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather maps There is a slight warming pattern underway in our weather system after several consecutive days of cold weather in Salem which saw lows this week dipping into the teens. Temperatures Friday in the capitol city have risen into the low to mid-40's and while today was mostly sunny and chilly, expect increasing clouds and colder conditions tonight as we look toward an overnight low of 28, with a 90% chance of snowfall Saturday.

Expect snow and rain through the weekend, with highs reaching into the upper 30's and low to mid-40's with overnight lows below freezing, but not as cold as the last couple of nights.

Stormy and Cold Weather Continues on West Coast (VIDEO)

Arctic air is spreading across the Pacific Northwest with only a slight moderating trend later in the weekend into early next week.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Accuweather.com weather map Tonight could see temperatures dropping to as low as 19 degrees in Salem. The capitol city will be one of the colder places in Western Oregon. Portland is expected to stay warmer with a low of 24 degrees tonight.

Tomorrow expect a high temperature of 38 locally, forecasters say it will feel more like 34 degrees though.
